Chorus factory pedal

Im done with the Chorus Factory pedal. It took me longer than the first one as getting the texture wasn't easy especially to get the exact one as the original. For now, this is it. I will change the texture more similar to the original color after I'm done with the last pedal. I did try  remaking the pedal as this is the base of the previous pedal. However, it will take me a long time to do it especially when I have to think about the poly faces. I try texturing using the rough surface and etc. Despite that, I still remain the base pedal file…

One 3D pedal down

For now, I have done one out of three pedal to be 3D model. It took me some time as I had to delete a few edges and unwanted faces to decrease the poly count of the model. I had some problems with adding the images in and not familiar with it, so I asked one of my classmate, Nathania. She was a great help and she helps me to understand more when it comes to adding the image.

I tried to make it as similar as possible and this is how it turns out.

3D pedal

I started my 3D pedal modeling. I expected it to take a longer time to do but it turns out, it wasn't that long. Despite that, it is still a good thing to start earlier.

I haven't added the texture. If it's alright I could put already. Now letting my members comment and review before I do anything else. Beside, 3D wasn't my forte so adding the texture is not really a thing that I'm familiar with (but I can do it, just not very nice). Even though I have been doing in semester 2. It's been a while since I use this software.

Contents page almost done

From the previous post, I have to change a little of the contents page. And so I did.

However, during the group discussion we did a few more changes and goes with that version. We added the slideshow from Indesign. The linking we haven't done that and will soon. The whole project file of this content page is in Paveethra's laptop though. That shall be updated soon once I got it from Paveethra.

On the other hand, the cover page is now editing by Amir and Jessica. Both are trying to add in the effects and transition in it. So far just need to change the fonts and alter a bit more then it's almost done.

As for me, I have to do three pedals 3D modeling and that will be my task for this semester break.

Further into discussion

For our featured artist, we have decided to use Imran Ishak, drummer from a band 'One Buck Short'. Although he is a drummer, we are still going with the guitar concept for the instrument section. In short, we are just using his face.

This is our schedule for this week onwards since we have other assignments to do too. We wouldn't want it to clash with them. So far, we planned to do the designing and modelling. On the week 10 / 11, we will added into the Indesign and test out the interactive part.

My group mates when they are focusing on their task.

Did this final mock up but it wasn't really good. Had been commented that it doesn't look complete and should have more in it. The images seems stretched because of the rectangle box given. So had to change it a little.

The newer outcome. It does looked better. I've added the volume on the title, page number and image description in it. I try to play around with the arrangement and I got this. Asked my group mates about it and they were pleased. Though the left side of the page can be improved more.

Publishing (?) How (?)

Today we had a somewhat tutorial, a quick one. It is basically for us to know how to create an interactive magazine content. That is to use the digital publishing in Adobe Indesign. We are also shown videos regarding it.

Other than that, we had a mini group discussion to discuss what are progress or way to do our final. We splitting the job among our members and also discuss about the cover page.

Before that, we thought of having just westernized characters but decided to go with 3D elements anyway.

So in our free time, us three girls try to fix and match the cover page. It sounded so easy at first but it comes to doing it onsite itself, it may be not as easy as it seems.

Comments & Feedback on group leader

The first appointed leader was me. So, from week 4 to week 6, our leader is Amir.

   I would think that Amir is the most suitable leader among our group members because he knows a lot about the field we are doing our magazine on. He can think of a different idea and still keep to our chosen concept (or give another new concept to work on if the previous one didn't work out well). When we are lost on what / how we going to do it, he will thought hard and sometimes gives us ideas that we would never thought of. He can defend his design sense very strongly and can directly tell you if he doesn't like it. Well, not in a harsh way but you can tell that he didn't like it. In most presentation, he always the one who speak on our behalf and he will defend our ideas on the spot. He is seen always calm and when situation is a little tense from stress, he would be calmly thinking of a solution.

  Despite that, like I stated before, he is more to solo working than a team working. True that he has the leadership spirit but sometimes he would do his part alone. Even if his part has a lot to do, he still prefer doing it alone despite Vee has tried to offer him help since she didn't have much to do for now. He like spending his time by himself but will aid us when we ask for his opinion.

Strength & Weakness

This shall be the strength and weakness of my group members. What is written here (especially to my group members), please don't get offended.

Starting from Paveethra… hehehe…

Paveethra

Strength : 
She can do her given task when we asked her to do. When given feedback towards her work, she can easily accepted it and will try another way to pursue it. She can sometimes prior her work when it is really urgent that sometimes she would skip lunch (that is when it is on the due date itself). She do contribute some ideas in terms of all the section we do. Since for now she doesn't have a part to do in the magazine (well supposedly to help Amir but he didn't want it), she help all of us in general in term of concept, interactivity and theme.

Weakness : 
One of her most weakness is that she's kind of laid back sometimes. She would calmly said 'yes' to do and sometimes ended up doing last minute and start skipping lunch. Probably the one that don't effect us much is that she doesn't defend her idea much and just let go easily when people rejected (or show rejection) it.

Next….

Jessica

Strength:
She would sometimes sit quietly and listen to what you want to say and when it's all done, she would give her feedback and suggestion. She can do her work well and sometimes she can do it without us saying anything. Also, I could say that she one of the best speaker in our group.

Weakness:
So far, I've got only good impression on her as I haven't work that long enough to judge her. Sometimes she forgets but everyone does that sometimes.

Finally…

Amir

Strength
He knows what he's doing and he can easily generate new ideas fast. He knows the musical terms and can think of instruments / gear to use for our themed magazine. He can defend his idea strongly and gives feedback towards our work. He is usually the one who speaks representing our group as he knows more about the theme than any of us. He can be a leader sometimes where he could instruct us to do a certain task. Also, he is very strong in his sense of design and creativity. If he didn't like it, he would just say it straight forward. Always the first one come for group discussion outside of class.

Weakness
Despite he can be a leader, he can also be solo when it comes to doing his part of the task. He usually preferred doing his part by himself and doesn't really wants help from us (though this can also be a strength).

Overall, judging them as a group:

     They are really cooperative and gives always give feedbacks. They are creative in their way that we have varies of ideas coming in and out. Our group is not very tense and we managed to last peacefully for the past six week (well.. more or less 5 weeks, considering that we are not complete in class discussion in the first two weeks)

    We would usually start our discussion after all member arrived so there's really no left-out in terms of doing work and idea generation.
